This morning on CTV news there was a bit on some researchers who discovered dogs can laugh. I think laugh is the wrong word for what they discovered, but it is really neat. They showed a bunch of caged dogs in the pound all barking at the same time. They played on fairly loud speakers the sound of a dog panting and all the dogs stopped barking and started to wag their tales. I tried this with Bandit. He was driving me a bit nuts this morning so I started panting. He put his paws on my knee, looked at me with lots of interest and was wagging his tale. I guess the sound of panting means you are having fun? (like after running around chasing something or playing with a ball)
