I'm now moved in

A few days ago I moved into my new house. Before I talk about that I'll tell you about how I screwed up bad and made myself unable to eat or sleep for a whole day. Closing was on a Friday so on Thursday I transferred my money from my ING Direct account to Royal Bank. That was the problem. It takes 1-2 business days for the transfer to complete and on Friday morning the money wasn't in my Royal Bank account!!! It also wasn't in my ING account either. To make matters worse I had two meetings in the morning for work and had only about 1.5 hours to sort things out and get a check to the lawyers before noon. After lots of phone calls and showing proof of the money and transfer the Royal Bank gave me the bank draft I needed overdrawing my account. I gave it to the lawyer and everyone was happy. After dinner I checked my account and the money had finally arrived. I'll bet I've grown a few grey hairs before that day was over.

Well anyway everything is fine, mom and dad helped me move my stuff over here, mom & nana bought me lots of cleaning stuff, and Mark gave me a few spare things he had around the house. All of this was very helpful, thanks everyone. I've got digital cable with HDTV channels hooked up now, high speed Internet, a phone line, and all the utilities looked after. Now I'm spending about 5 hours per day after work running around town buying all the things I need to live away from my parents' house. Today I bought a microwave, pots & pans, juice jugs, a bunch of food and more. Oh I've ordered a couch I really like and a queen size bed.

I'm focusing on one room at a time. Of course, I started with the computer room :) It's looking great and I've got everything set up the way I want. I've got 3 servers in the closet, cables organized with tie-wraps, I built a shelf 3 feet off the floor to hold the KVM, monitor, keyboard and thermometer. It's quite the slick setup. I bought some pine to build 3 book shelves in a corner.. have to build those over the long weekend. Maybe I should stain it first? But which stain should I use?? Lots of decisions.

From Sunday to the following Friday (July 4-9) I'll be back in Saul Sainte Marie doing work on their servers, setting up a bunch of new workstations, and training a few departments on the Crescendo system. Yes, it's FINALLY being rolled out and going live!! I've been waiting long for this and so have they. Now we're both ready. People don't really appreciate how large and complex Crescendo is until I show it to them and they realize that just one person designed and programmed the entire system. I'd say at this point it's my favourite project at IJW so far. I'd like to say Magma is but it's been so long and it's still not released. Well, we are trying to get things installed at a beta site but months have gone by with little progress because of a lack of data to feed Magma.
