I'm still alive

I can't believe how long it's been since I've written something in here last. It's been a crazy past 4 months and I've found that I don't spend as much time on my computer since I moved into my new house. I'm so busy doing a million other things. Add that with work and I don't spend much time on the computer at home anymore. So what's new?

I'm pretty much settled into the house now. I've pretty much finished my living room, dining room, kitchen, and bedroom. All that's needed now is some pictures for the walls, placemats for the table, and maybe some curtains for my bedroom. I'm very happy with the new house. I plan on redoing the bathroom with my mom this November. That means repainting, and buying a bunch of bathroom stuff. Cleaning the toilet for once too! :)

The plan is to finish paying off the TV by new year, level and re-sod my backyard in the spring, build a fence and small deck in the backyard.. and if my 2005 budget permits -- pave the drivway. All that will be left is to finish the "games room" in the basement.

Things at IJW have been good. We're "almost there" with everything. My personal fav project is Crescendo which has been live since Jul 7 2004. Two departments have been using it daily. I always hear from them that it works great and they love it. When it did it's first quarterly extract to the HRDC, it was accepted with no errors. That's a first since other systems don't check to make sure the data is good before sending it out. There are a few features that have been left out and I'd love to spend a couple weeks finishing it off. However, me being a manager now makes it tough to be a programmer. Sometimes I don't get to program until the afternoon and even then I can't work uninterrupted. I'm not complaining though, I love working at IJW. We've hired one of the users who uses the program the most to write the manual for the parts of the program she uses. Monday I get to see it for the first time. Exciting times! Once it's got all the features we want, and a manual, we have a full time salesman who will travel a lot to sell nation-wide.
