I was just reading a message on FidoNet through my BBS by a freelance programmer. He said most larger companies have some sort of IP agreement they require you to sign. They claim rights to any ideas and implementation you've done on your own time at home, on your own hardware. Some go up to 5-years back! I can't believe how rude that is. If I ever went to get a freelance job and was asked to sign that I'd have a real good long laugh, tell them to stick it up their ass and walk out. Or maybe I'd offer the the source code to this crappy PHP site I did years ago. It was never finished, just enough to do what I wanted.
