Often I remember most of my dreams and can tell people about them at work or a few days later. I've heard that if you are a deep sleeper your memory functions turn off and you don't remember dreams. If you don't sleep deep then your memory is still functional. I must be a light sleeper.
Once and a while I write about some of my dreams. Last night was so disturbing I thought I'd post a segment of the dream on here for people to read. It was about a terrorist attack sometime in the winter, simultaneously in many cities around the US. I lived through it:
I'm with my mom and family and we're at a house with terrorists or something. We watched them shoot people all around us because they did something wrong so we learned to be oblivious watching someone die and pretend like it never happened so that we wouldn't get shot. Later I find out one of my friends is a shooter. I had an out of body experience. I watched him shoot me in the head. My body fell to the ground and I was hoping that I'd somehow wake up. I felt some kind of pull and a few seconds later I was back in my body and got up. It was like he never shot me in the head and everyone was amazed.
Then we find out terrorists have blown up many cities around the US including Chicago. There were many survivors but we had no heat, water, food etc... I'm in some kind of shelter with my family and notice everyone is wearing winter coats and very cold. I felt very warm and wanted to take my jacket off and people seemed insulted that I was so cozy. A line of people wearing their jackets came walking by and I thought they were just a group walking around to stay warm.
Zip ahead to the future and life continues as normal. People have rebuilt, heat and power is back and it seems like summer time to me.
