All the snow is melted now and lately we've been having many warm days (around 8 C - 10 C). Yesterday I raked the front lawn and got rid of all the rocks, sand, dead grass, etc... and folded the large cardboard boxes that were previously burried under snow from things I bought months ago (such as my tv stand, etc). I went to a few lumber yards and got pricing on a 6 foot lattice top fence (pressure treated). Basically I'm looking at $1500-$2000 to build my fence. One neighbor has offered to pay half of his side, and now I have to talk to the other two neighbors to see if they'll pay half of theirs. Somehow I don't think it will be easy.
I've got several outdoor projects planned for this spring and summer:
- Level and re-sod my back yard
- Build a fence around the back yard
- Build a deck floor between part of the fence and house
- Install central AC
- Pave driveway
Yeah that is a huge list (expensive) and it's likely I won't get all of them done. I at least want to get the first two done. Then it's a tossup between AC and deck. I've had this planned since before Christmas and have been saving up. When I'm finished with the exterior, I want to finish the games room in the basement which will probably cost another thousand bucks. That probably won't be until winter.
My boss seems to never stay in a house for more than 2 years. I believe he's moved 19 times so far. The house he's currently occupying is a record breaker, almost 3 years. He's finished the basement and had done a few other renos. He says it's ready to sell! haha I think this time his wife won't let him sell it.
